Drums snap in with a crisp snare and a dry kick that seats the grid without thickening it. The groove locks almost at once: fast, metronomic, comfortable enough to sit in. Keys smear into the middle as a soft pad, warming the midrange without crowding the attack. The whole floor stays open and motor-true, weight only lightly present under the moving pulse.

High falsetto enters as grain and air more than mass—smooth onset, close placement, long glides that ride above the funk motor instead of pressing into it. Phrases stretch and settle while the rhythm section keeps its light hold. Later, stacked voices pad the upper layer as breath and sheen, thickening presence without breaking the pocket. The body stays captured; the surface never turns dense or abrasive.

When the upper voices stack harder, the mix fills forward in the presence band and the refrain shape repeats against the same unbroken grid. Phrase lifts rise and drop back, but bass and drums refuse to leave their seat. For long stretches the pattern simply holds—pressure sustained, surface open, motor grip steady—while falsetto threads and short harmonic pads trade the foreground. Occasional low weight gathers under the pulse and lifts again, more color than drag.

Late, the pressure eases. The falsetto thins and scatters; the groove sparsens beneath it. Guitar returns as gentle plucks. Body lock loosens, the carried motion lets go, and the last quiet decay empties into silence.
