Odal
"Odal" treats inheritance as something heavier and more bodily than pride. The opening tree image at 0:49 joins old wood and new growth in one figure; by 1:17 and 1:22 the bark also carries wounds, honor, and shame. That doubleness is the center of the meaning. What is handed down can steady a person, but it can also burn, and the slow pulse keeps the idea physical.
The address at 1:46 turns the image into responsibility. The gift of odal at 2:02 is immediately followed by the warning at 2:15 not to carry more than one can bear. Meaning here is custody with a limit, not ownership as triumph. The late root return at 3:37 and the final growth lines after 4:50 make the inheritance double-sided again: higher and deeper at once, named twice, then left in the listener's hands.
