Little Red Corvette

Narration sentence highlighting is idle.

That dry drum pulse is already doing the job: quick, even, and light, with the synths leaving plenty of air around it.

Prince comes in almost conversationally on "I guess I should've known," and the beat doesn't flinch under the suspicion.

The first "Little Red Corvette" opens the song out, but it still rides the same fast, tidy groove.

Now the story moves indoors with "I should've closed my eyes," and his voice stays soft while the pictures and previous riders make the scene less playful.

When the chorus comes back, the backing voices make the warning feel more public: same shine, a little more knowledge behind it.

This verse gets more direct on "A body like yours," but the arrangement stays clean instead of getting messy with him.

The "tame your little red love machine" line lets him imagine control for a second, then the hook comes right back and takes over again.

Here the hook starts circling harder, with the oohs and the "slow down" answer making the warning catchier instead of calmer.

The repeated "you got to slow down" has more strain now, but the track still refuses to actually slow down.

The late flirtation turns into a joke about how smooth the ride is; Prince stretches it just enough before the limousine line lands.

Back at the chorus, "much too fast" and "a love that's gonna last" sound less like new advice than the one thing the song can't stop repeating.

The ending finally names the cost: body into the ground, answered again and again while the groove keeps moving underneath it.
