New Way Out
"New Way Out" is about survival as active refusal. The speaker is not describing a clean breakthrough. She is inside recurring pressure, naming the forces that keep choosing her and trying to consume what is left.
The first turn is defensive: do not let it in, do not bend, keep enough of the self intact to scream. The second verse complicates that need by bringing in pain, beauty, risk, and reckoning, so the title demand becomes more than escape from damage. The bridge makes the meaning blunt: get up or stay down. By the end, freedom remains unresolved, but passivity has become impossible.
