0:00–0:27 Intro sets the riff

A murmured ooh, stop over strummed guitar, then the wordless ooh-ooh hook begins its circular climb at 0:04. The band gathers around it across the first few hook passes, and the beat locks in almost immediately — this section establishes the looping riff and settled pulse the whole track runs on.

0:27–1:13 First verse proves the refrain

The lead voice enters at 0:27 with the headstand instructions, four short lines that narrow to the title question at 0:45. Where is my mind? lands three times, answered by high echo harmonies, and the water tag at 1:02 — see it swimmin' — closes the cycle while extending it toward a repeat.

1:14–2:10 Second cycle, then the solo detour

Verse 2 (1:14) swaps in the Caribbean fish story while the same verse-and-refrain contract reloads unchanged at 1:33. After the second water tag, a distorted guitar solo takes the foreground over the intro riff, roughly 1:49–2:10 — the main instrumental detour, and its one detour from the pattern.

2:10–2:58 Return cycle, expanded

Verse 1's text returns at 2:10, repetition itself doing the work: the trick instructions heard again after the fish story, as if reset. The final refrain at 2:28 stretches its echo answers across extra passes (2:36–2:43) before the last water tag at 2:45 — the one altered return in an otherwise stable form.

2:58–3:49 Outro empties the frame

The ooh-ooh hook resurfaces at 2:58 as the lead voice, with fragments of the verse tucked underneath as parentheticals for three passes; from 3:15 those drop away and the hook repeats alone. Around 3:33 the band lets go — the pressure eases, the beat loses its grip — and the final chord breaks apart and decays into silence by 3:46.

One riff, one question, run in circles until the voice reduces to its opening hook and the recording stops without answering.
