Namahage (なまはげ)

`Namahage` is built like a procession that becomes an inspection. It begins with an empty threshold, locks into a hard groove, turns the first verses into a village warning, then uses refrain returns and a long instrumental test to make the final calls feel like a circuit closing.

0:00-0:54 Empty threshold and hard entry

The first twelve seconds leave the room bare before the band enters. The opening groove then arrives already squared off, with a regular pulse and narrow floor. Structurally, this section establishes the rule before the story appears: the track will move by discipline, not drift.

0:54-1:50 First frame and inspection call

The first sung section places the listener in a remote winter village and moves quickly from seasonal image into returning visitors and moral weight. When the refrain asks whether the loafer or crying child is hiding, the section stops being scene-setting and becomes inspection.

2:03-3:00 Second body and repeated inspection

The second verse gives the figure a body: wild hair, straw clothing, red face, and anger. That makes the returning refrain land differently. The call is no longer an anonymous hook; it belongs to a visible mask moving through the song's already established channel.

3:30-3:48 Bridge ethic

The bridge states the song's hard moral logic in compressed form: severity as love, vehemence as mercy, softness as harm. Its job is to name the rule that the earlier sections have been enforcing physically.

3:48-5:19 Instrumental test

The long instrumental span lets the rule continue without more words. Around 4:10, the main mass thins into scraped guitar agitation, and by 4:23 the full low body returns. The form briefly pulls sideways, then forces itself back into procession.

5:19-6:31 Final circuit and cutoff

The final refrain repeats the paired calls until they feel less like chorus returns than a closing ritual of inspection. The release around 6:27 is short, and the silence after 6:31 ends the form by removing the procession rather than resolving it.
