Traust
"Traust" is built as a charm machine: threshold, bind-and-loosen grammar, numbered protections, cleansing refrain, return to the older frame, and a long release that leaves the mechanism's trace.
0:00-1:55 Threshold and pulse-finding
- The opening withholds full entry, then lets speech-shape, drone, percussion, and space find a shared count.
- By about 1:03, the pulse is reliable enough for the listener to enter the ritual path.
1:55-3:30 Bind-and-loosen frame
- The Merseburg material gives the first structural rule: binding, hindering, loosening, release.
- This is not preface. It teaches the grammar the later charms will keep applying.
3:30-3:46 First charm
- The repeated hinge begins: "I sing this for you."
- The first protection turns away what is unbearable and sends the self back toward itself without changing the track's basic ground.
3:46-6:40 Charm and cleansing cycle
- The short refrain after each charm works as ritual wash rather than pop chorus.
- The sequence moves through road, river, enemies, fetters, sea, frost, night, and speech while the pulse stays almost unchanged.
- Each return makes the structure feel less like a list and more like application, cleansing, and re-entry.
6:48-7:00 Merseburg return
- The older bind-and-loosen passage comes back after the ninth charm.
- Structurally, this closes the middle around its original grammar: all the protections return to the first problem of bonds and release.
7:00-9:05 Corridor of repetition
- The repeated beginnings and steady pulse stretch time.
- The track keeps walking the same corridor until memory, count, and utterance feel like one architecture.
9:05-9:45 Release
- The pattern drops back, loosens, and finally drains toward silence.
- The ending does not crown the rite. It leaves the listener with the shape of the spell after the mechanism has stopped turning.
