The opening does not so much begin as hang there. For a few seconds the sound offers shape without traction: a suspended field, a soft release, a small drop back before anything can be called a groove. The ear has a pattern to follow before the body has one. Around the first quarter-minute, the pulse comes into usable focus; the motion settles, and the body finds the beat under a held weight rather than on top of a sharp percussive floor.
Once that lock arrives, the track commits to duration. The surface stays sparse, warm, and tonally held, with the repeated pulse doing most of the steering. There is not much cross-tension in the grid; the pleasure is in how little the music needs to disturb itself to keep moving. The low and low-mid mass does not slam forward. It suspends the room, giving the rhythm gravity without making it heavy in the blunt sense.
Through the long middle stretch, the track becomes a runway. Small phrase drops at the edges of the line keep resetting the listener’s balance, but the basic contract remains intact: steady time, low harmonic motion, force mostly sustained. Near 3:28 the weight opens briefly, then the surface starts to flex more actively. Attacks lean around the pulse for a moment, not enough to break the floor, just enough to make the grid feel lived in. By 3:43 the weight lifts, twice, and then gathers again underneath the motion at 3:51.
That return of weight changes the role of the pulse. It is still stable, but it feels more embodied, as if the track has sunk a little deeper into its own tread. Around five minutes, the lift-and-arrival pattern repeats: a brief lightening, then the underside fills back in, several times in close succession. The body is more strongly captured here, though comfort remains measured rather than loose. The groove gives a seat, but it is a narrow one.
After 5:52, another release loosens the weight, followed by a drop back and a stretch that holds its shape until the next small build. Around 6:21 the room fills forward again, and a bright ornamental flash at 6:24 cuts across the otherwise warm, steady surface. It is a quick flare, not a new architecture. The pulse absorbs it and keeps going.
The last minute begins to drain by increments. A release at 7:25 is followed by several phrase drops, each one taking a little more grip out of the body. The pattern finally breaks near 7:50; the motor hold recedes, attention falls away from the grid, and the track empties into its final gap. What remains is not a climax, but the sound letting go of the floor.
