Yellow
"Yellow" is about devotion made visible. The speaker does not build a complicated story around the beloved. He turns outward to stars, color, making, crossing, and self-offering, then keeps returning to the same bright image until it becomes a whole emotional climate.
The song's simplicity is the point. The phrase "all yellow" works because it does not explain the feeling away. It gives the feeling a color and lets the band hold that color in place. There is cost inside the brightness: the middle images of effort and giving make devotion physical, but the music does not collapse into drama. That restraint lets the song say something cleaner and stranger than a normal love-song compliment. One person has become so lit in the speaker's imagination that the whole world seems dyed by them, and the speaker is vulnerable because he has let that be seen.
