That dark repeated figure is already doing a lot before the singing starts: low tone, steady movement, and a thin bright edge kept in check.

The first voice comes in with "Take an eye for an eye," and the sparse track leaves the words exposed.

After the small pullback, "it all comes back times three" makes the repeated figure feel less comforting and more exacting.

"Don't come looking for me" changes the address; the beat stays even, but the lyric starts putting distance around the singer.

Here the language empties into the "hey" refrain and hum, so the voice becomes texture without giving the song a big lift.

The second verse comes back on the same ground: "I can't sleep" and "waking up is just a dream" both ride that steady pulse.

"My sadness has lost its cause" is the sharp turn here; then "I'm suffocating" arrives while the arrangement keeps moving almost too calmly.

The refrain returns, but "I've got no joy to lend" changes the old defense into depletion.

Listen to how plain the withdrawal gets: "Isolating, bridge withdrawing," then "I can't take it," still held to the same count.

The title finally enters inside the refrain: "Anhedonia" with the "hey" voices around it, named without much release.

This is the changed center of the song: "I'll be your silent witness" brings in doubled answering vocals, and the words turn from isolation toward guarded care.

When "Anhedonia" comes back after "keep your heart close to mine," the title carries both things now: numbness and someone trying to stay near.

The last title calls are simpler and barer; the song circles the word instead of pushing into a conventional climax.

After the pattern loosens, the long silence matters because the steady movement has been the song's main body until now.
