The lyric addresses an obsessive rival, someone who lurks while the speaker strides, and the band’s locked runway keeps the boast from sounding frantic. “Throw yourself to the sword” becomes command, dare, and seduction at once; the sheath image makes the threat bodily, while the groove’s control makes the cruelty feel chosen.
